What is Pilates?

Pilates is a system of exercises, which allow you to take control of your mind and your body.

It uses smooth flowing movements that tone and stretch your body and increases strength and flexibility in your muscles and joints. It utilises the power of the mind to help with the exercises and to increase harmony between body and mind.

Pilates exercises have been designed to work the muscles of the body as efficiently as possible in the minimum time. The low impact exercises treat the body as a whole and are very effective.

Why do Pilates?

The Pilates system offers a complete work out for the body that exercises not just the main muscle groups but the weaker, less used muscles too.

It enables you to achieve a toned body, realise your fitness potential and Pilates exercises will improve your posture.

It is an exercise system that is open to all, because anyone of any age and fitness level can do Pilates.
